Do Dham Yatra
We are very well aware of the Char Dham yatra. Out of the four sites, two of them belong to the Do Dham Yatra. Kedarnath and Badrinath are visited in this yatra. They are extremely popular amongst the devotees who seek salvation. The holiest of the Shiva’s shrines is the Kedarnath. Badrinath is one of the 108 shrines of Lord Vishnu. There is a one meter tall statue of lord Vishnu in black stone which is the reason for attraction due to grandeur and beauty.

Significance
According to Hinduism, Brahma is the Creator, Vishnu is the Preserver and Mahesh is the destroyer. The trinity of these three Gods is very significant according to the myths and beliefs. The state of Uttarakhand is blessed by the presence of such an auspicious trinity.

There are plenty of sacred shrines in the world but none of it compares to the sacredness of Badrinath and Kedarnath.
According to the Vamana purana, the fifth incarnation of Lord Vishnu performed penances in Badrinath. Badrinath has connections with the Vedic Age and associated with the scholars like Ramanujacharya and Madhavacharya.
Kedarnath is named after the ruler’s name. It is said that Bhim had a fight with Lord Shiva and wounded him.
Feeling guilty of hurting Lord Shiva, Bhim had a body massage with Ghee, which now,
has become a ritual and now people apply Ghee at Jyotirlinga Shivlinga here.
The temple in Kedarnath is temple of Mahabharat time which is the oldest one and is much respected among the pilgrims.
